Who is Peace School for?
Peace School is open to people from all backgrounds, from homemakers to lawyers; from teachers to shop workers. Peace School enables people from all backgrounds to explore how to be shalom activists in our own spheres of influence i.e. your jobs, communities, families, interest areas etc.
As a participant you do not need to have any prior qualifications, or ‘experience’ of ‘peacemaking’. We all have experience of being peacemakers whether we recognise it as such or not, and your thoughts, experiences and reflections will be a valued part of the joint exploration into what it means to be a shalom activist. All you need to bring as a participant is a willingness to journey together to a deeper understanding of peace and justice and how to relate that to your own life and the lives of those around you.
Peace School finds inspiration from all Christian traditions and endeavours to nurture a ‘one church’ understanding. While the programme is rooted in a Christian understanding of shalom, and explores shalom activism from a Jesus-centred Christian perspective, it aims to provide a friendly and welcoming environment for people from any background or faith.
