Speak Soundcheck – 27th February to 1st March 2009 - Response:Ability
Posted: 11 February, 21:08 by Jon Dorsett
The SPEAK Network hosts a warehouse gathering, creating a space to draw out the passion, vision and prophetic voice of our generation. A weekend of exploration of how our Jesus-centred spirituality leads us into radical prayer, creativity and action for justice.
SPEAK is a network connecting together young adults and students to campaign and pray about issues of global injustice. Through bringing change to situations of injustice, SPEAK network members aim to share their faith in an all-loving, all-powerful creator: God.
Creative pod areas exploring all areas of Speak, from Prayer and Campaigns to Faith & Spirituality will host speakers, workshops, live music, creative arts, spoken word, DJs and more! In realising our connections to issues of global poverty and inequality we want to create a climate of repentance – enabling us to turn our own lives around to act justly, and to challenge our generation, our decision makers and our society to do the same.
Ron Sider, author of ‘Rich Christians in an ‘Age of Hunger’, will be helping us to explore the promises of justice and freedom for the oppressed that the Bible offers.
