Stories of God, us and Creation

Grains of wheat blowing in the windNarratives give meaning and direction to our lives. Our stories give us a sense of where we come from and where we are going. We interpret and mediate the world through story; stories inform, reinforce and express our worldview; therefore the idea of story forms the focus of our explorations at Peace School. From this perspective we investigate the other elements of being a shalom activist.

Peace School begins with your own story and journey, helping you to recognise and appreciate yourself as a peacemaker. From this point we look at the stories of other people, communities and movements that can act as inspiration, both the ‘big’ names of nonviolence, and those whose stories are less frequently told. Examining the story and teachings of Jesus and surveying scripture from a shalom perspective, are essential components of the programme.
